Privacy notice

Clear information about how TSI handles data.

The Stewardship Initiative is operated by Simpli-FI OS. This notice describes the information TSI handles, why it is used, and the choices available to you.

Last updated July 22, 2026

Information we collect

We collect information you choose to provide, such as account and contact details, organization requests, resource or listing submissions, newsletter signups, and billing-related identifiers. A submission may become public only after review; account, billing, and unpublished submission information is not public by default.

We also receive limited technical information needed to operate and protect the service. That can include authentication cookies and an IP address used temporarily in application memory for rate limiting. Public analytics collection is disabled during manual probation, and we do not store the text of public search queries.

How we use information

We use information to provide accounts and directory features, review submissions, support community hosts, deliver requested newsletters, manage subscriptions, protect the service, prevent abuse, and understand whether core features work.

TSI does not currently sell personal data, use it for targeted advertising, or use it for automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

Search and external processing

Standard directory search runs against TSI data. External AI processing is disabled in public search during manual probation. It cannot be enabled by a URL parameter or other public request. Do not enter medical histories, case details, financial account information, or other sensitive personal information into search.

Cookies and browser storage

Account sign-in uses essential authentication cookies. The submission form uses localStorage so an unfinished draft can remain on your device; it is removed after a successful submission and can also be cleared through your browser.

Service providers and disclosure

We use service providers to operate TSI: Supabase for authentication and application data, Vercel for hosting, Resend for newsletter delivery, and Stripe for subscription billing. They process information for the services they provide to us under their own terms and privacy commitments.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect people or the service, or as part of an organizational transaction subject to appropriate safeguards. We do not make a submitted resource or listing public without the applicable review process.

Retention and security

Retention periods vary by record type and by a service provider's controls, and TSI is documenting record-specific retention and deletion ownership during manual probation. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, but we use access controls and other reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information we handle.

Your choices and requests

You may contact us to ask about personal information associated with you, request access, correction, or deletion, or unsubscribe from newsletters. We will review the request and any rights or exceptions that apply; our verification and response procedure is still being documented during manual probation. Email info@thestewardshipinitiative.com and describe your request. Do not send sensitive identification documents by email unless we specifically provide a secure method.

Children

TSI is a general-audience community resource and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate.
